MIRRA – Launching AZMUD project

Due to Covid-19, AZMUD project has been launched remotely through an online kick-off meeting on April 22, 2020. From each partner, 2-3 representatives attended the meeting.

Each partner did a presentation on the company he/ she is leading and another presentation on the work package in which the company is leading.

Eng. Maram Zaid, MIRRA’s Irrigation and Agriculture Department Manager, presented MIRRA’s profile. She presented MIRRA’s goals, approach and projects and activities.

Dr. Samer Talozi, MIRRA’s Director, presented the Work package in which MIRRA is leading. MIRRA is leading the work package on Magnetic fields, Joule root plants heaters, PV modules & ultra-low energy drip irrigation. This work package aims to develop a new root heating system, optimize and adapt the use of low-energy drip irrigation in green houses and promote the use of magnetically treated water.

AZMUD- Improvement of Mediterranean greenhouses performance using innovative plastic materials, natural additives and novelty irrigation technologies project is a 42 months project funded by PRIMA foundation. The consortium of the project is comprised from 8 partners from Europe and MENA region.
